Lisbon metro disruptions until July

Written By Lara Silva

The Lisbon Metro connections between Campo Grande, Telheiras, and Cidade Universitária will be suspended until July due to construction to improve the infrastructure.

This decision comes as part of a broader plan to modernize and upgrade the metro’s infrastructure to provide better and safer transportation services for Lisbon commuters.

The construction will affect several lines of the Lisbon Metro. The transportation company Metropolitano plans to minimize the impact on commuters by providing alternative bus services and ensuring clear communication about the changes.

During the construction, there are alternative bus services for the Telheiras – Campo Grande metro route, including the 767 from Campo Mártires Pátria to Reboleira (Metro), the 747 from Campo Grande (Metro) to Pontinha (Metro), the 778 from Campo Grande (Metro) to Colégio Militar (Metro), and the 717 from Praça do Chile to Fetais.

For the Cidade Universitária – Campo Grande route, it is suggested to use the 738 (Estrada Luz – Alto Santo Amaro), 735 (Cais Sodré – Hospital Santa Maria), 70 (Campo Grande Metro – Campo de Ourique), and 736 (Cais Sodré – Odivelas) bus routes.

The new circular line, scheduled to open in 2024, will connect the Rato station to Cais do Sodré, creating a circular route in central Lisbon with transportation interfaces that combine various transportation methods.
